APC Slams ADC Unveiling as “Coalition of Hoaxers, Self-Obsessed Merchants of Vendetta”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on the newly unveiled African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a gathering of “hoaxers and self-obsessed merchants of vendetta” with no clear vision or alternative plan for Nigeria.

In a statement released on Thursday by Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, the ruling party dismissed the ADC’s launch on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, as underwhelming and empty of substance. According to Morka, the event, headlined by Senator David Mark—reportedly serving as ADC’s National Chairman—was nothing more than a public declaration of desperation for power by discredited political figures.

“The unveiling was not the roar that its promoters loudly touted, but a gasping whimper,” Morka said. “It was the coming together of Nigeria’s ‘me-or-nothing’ politicians, whose selfish interests they shamelessly equate with those of the Nigerian people.”

Morka criticized Senator Mark’s keynote speech as “vacant, without substance or purpose,” filled with “stitches of untruths, diatribe, and regurgitated and baseless allegations” against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He further accused the ADC coalition of failing to present any clear policy alternatives or ideological direction, questioning what value the new alliance offers Nigerians beyond its ambition for power.

“What exactly is the philosophical or ideological leaning of this coalition, aside from desperation for power at all cost, by all means necessary and unnecessary?” Morka asked.

The APC spokesperson also lauded the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, citing several economic milestones and structural reforms. According to the statement, the Nigerian economy has seen significant improvements, including:

A GDP growth rate of 3.4%

An increase in external reserves from $4 billion in 2023 to over $24 billion in 2024

A reduction in the debt service-to-revenue ratio from 99% to 40%

A drop in inflation from 31% in 2024 to 22% in 2025

Strengthened foreign exchange stability

Increased revenue allocations to states and local governments

Expanded access to student loans and stable academic calendars

Thousands of healthcare facilities built or revamped

Substantial progress in national security and counter-terrorism efforts

Morka asserted that despite continued criticism from opposition ranks, the administration remains committed to reform and national development.

“While coalition members remain preoccupied swimming in mud and throwing bricks, our great Party and President Tinubu remain undisturbed and focused on using all available bricks to build a stronger, enduring and more prosperous nation,” he concluded.

The ADC has yet to formally respond to the APC’s statement. However, political analysts say the emergence of the coalition signals growing opposition momentum ahead of the next general elections. Whether it translates into viable political challenge remains to be seen.
