Ekiti Guber Race: Alumni Group Purchases Nomination Form for Gov. Oyebanji’s Second Term Bid

A solidarity group of Ekiti State University (EKSU) alumni has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms for the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Dr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, to contest for a second term in office.

Speaking at the APC National Secretariat, Director-General of the group, Engr. Dipo Bamisaye, said members of the association contributed funds to obtain the forms in honor of the governor, who is also an alumnus of the institution.

According to him, the gesture was borne out of their conviction that Governor Oyebanji has performed creditably well in office, particularly in the areas of education, infrastructure, and security.

“We are proud to say that the dream of the founding fathers of our university, established about 45 years ago by the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, has been fulfilled in the person of Governor Oyebanji. He has raised the standard of governance in Ekiti and continues to make us proud as one of our distinguished alumni,” Bamisaye stated.

The group noted that the governor, who graduated from the university about 40 years ago, has remained a strong pillar of support to the institution, with visible efforts to upgrade facilities and enhance academic standards.

On security, the group commended the governor for prioritizing the protection of lives and property, describing Ekiti as the most peaceful state in Nigeria under his leadership. They also praised his administration’s achievements in infrastructure and electricity supply, noting that the state has not had it this good in the last 15 years.

While expressing confidence in his re-election bid, the alumni urged the governor to sustain his developmental strides in a second term, stressing that expectations from the people remain very high.

“The constitution guarantees him a second term, and since the people and the party are behind him, we believe he has no option but to accept this call to serve again,” the group declared.

They further assured that Ekiti people are solidly behind Oyebanji, adding that his administration has not only impressed citizens but also earned the admiration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC national leadership.
