Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), with close air support from the Air Component and assistance from local security outfits, have recorded major successes in a series of coordinated offensives across the North-East between 23 and 30 August 2025.
In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, OPHK, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the operations targeted several terrorists’ strongholds in Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum in Chibok LGA, Mandarari in Konduga LGA, Gajigana in Magumeri LGA, as well as Konduga, Banki and Loskori Kura in Mafa LGA.
The offensive resulted in the neutralization of over 20 Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters, while several terrorists’ logistics suppliers and collaborators were apprehended.
Recovered items include multiple AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade tubes and bombs, a large cache of 7.62mm ammunition, and assorted logistics supplies. Troops also intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertilizer suspected to be destined for terrorists for the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were safely neutralized.
According to the statement, the week-long operations have significantly disrupted terrorists’ movements, denying them freedom of action and creating safer conditions for socio-economic activities to resume across the North-East.
The military high command commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism, pledging continued support to ensure the sustained defeat of insurgency in the region.
