PCRC, NSCDC Strengthen Collaboration with Operation Hadin Kai to Tackle Insecurity in Borno

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Borno State Chapter, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have pledged stronger collaboration with the Theatre Command, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in the fight against insecurity in the North East.

According to a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, OPHK, the PCRC delegation led by its Chairman, Ambassador Abatcha Umar Nanabe, paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters OPHK in Maiduguri.

Ambassador Nanabe commended the Command for its support during the recently concluded PCRC 1st Borno State Security Training Workshop held at the University of Maiduguri. He noted that such support would further strengthen the cordial relationship between the military, paramilitary organisations, and the public in efforts to eradicate insurgency in Borno and beyond.

The PCRC Chairman also used the visit to condole with the Theatre Commander over the recent death of Colonel Bello Umaru, Commander of 7 Military Intelligence Brigade. He pledged the Committee’s continued support to OPHK in future civil-military cooperation activities.

In his response, the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, assured the delegation that the military would continue to partner with the PCRC in security-related engagements and civil-military cooperation.

Earlier, the newly appointed NSCDC Borno State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, also visited OPHK Headquarters. He called for deeper synergy between the Corps and the Armed Forces, noting that the military had contributed immensely to the training of NSCDC personnel and joint operations across the country.

Commandant Agalama emphasized the role of NSCDC in protecting critical national assets alongside the military and urged for more support and collaboration in the overall interest of national security.

Responding, Major General Abubakar praised the NSCDC for its frontline contributions in the North East, assuring continued cooperation in line with the Presidential directive to safeguard strategic national infrastructure. He highlighted the joint efforts of multiple security agencies under OPHK as a major factor in the successes recorded against insurgents.
