CDS Reaffirms Military’s Commitment to National Security, Receives Northern Bridge Builders Forum

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has restated the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to safeguarding the nation and ensuring peace across all regions.

This was contained in a statement by Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen.
Tukur Gusau in Abuja

General Musa gave the assurance on Tuesday, when he received members of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum on a courtesy visit at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.

The delegation, led by Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, praised the AFN for its immense contributions to peace, unity, and stability in the country. Senator Ikenya noted that the forum fully supports the military, particularly for its efforts in restoring security in farming communities, which has enabled many farmers to return to their fields and boost food production.

He further disassociated the forum from what he described as negative criticisms of the military by “uninformed individuals” and urged the armed forces to sustain their momentum in the ongoing fight against insecurity. Citing the significant improvement in security along the Abuja–Kaduna highway, he described the military’s achievements as visible and commendable.

In response, the CDS expressed appreciation for the visit and the show of solidarity. He assured the delegation that the AFN remains resolute in its mission to protect the lives and property of Nigerians.

General Musa also applauded the forum’s diverse membership, describing them as patriotic Nigerians dedicated to fostering peace and unity across the country.
