The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Umar Dikko Radda, has commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering sacrifices and commitment towards addressing the security challenges in Katsina State and across the country.
Governor Radda gave the commendation on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the dedication and professionalism of troops deployed in Katsina State. He noted that the remarkable improvements in the state’s security situation were a result of the troops’ selfless service, resilience, and commitment.
Governor Radda appreciated the support and leadership of the COAS, which, he said, had boosted the morale of soldiers in the frontline. He recalled General Oluyede’s recent visit to Katsina, where his interaction with the troops greatly motivated them to perform their duties more effectively.
He further disclosed the state government’s readiness to partner with the Nigerian Army in establishing an additional unit in Katsina to strengthen ongoing operations. The Governor also praised the existing synergy between the Katsina Community Watch Corps and the Nigerian Army, describing the collaboration as a model for effective security management.
Responding, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, thanked Governor Radda for his continued support to the Nigerian Army. He assured the Governor that the Army under his leadership remains steadfast in its mission to secure Katsina State and other parts of the country from criminal elements.
General Oluyede lauded the government and people of Katsina for their cooperation and assistance to military operations, urging them to sustain the support. He reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to protecting law-abiding citizens, securing communities, and creating a safe environment for social and economic development.
