Armed Forces Record Major Gains Nationwide in Weekly Counter-Terrorism Operations

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have reported significant breakthroughs across all six geo-political zones as troops intensified operations against terrorists, bandits, oil thieves and other criminal elements between 3 and 14 November 2025.

According to the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Olatokunbo Bello, the week under review saw coordinated land and air operations that neutralized terrorists, dismantled criminal networks, rescued kidnapped civilians, and recovered large caches of weapons and ammunition.

NORTH EAST: OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK)

Troops of OPHK sustained pressure on Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS terrorists, conducting joint ground and air operations in Monguno, Bama, Chibok, Damboa, Gwoza, Ngazai and Biu LGAs of Borno State, as well as parts of Adamawa State.

The operations—both kinetic and non-kinetic—led to: scores of terrorists neutralized 45 collaborators, informants and logistics suppliers arrested. One kidnapped victim rescued. Terrorists’ camps and hideouts destroyed. Weapons, ammunition and vehicles recovered.

Security gains in the region continue to support safe resettlement of displaced persons and unimpeded farming activities.

NORTH WEST: OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY)

Troops maintained an aggressive tempo across Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Katsina, Kebbi and Kano States, killing several terrorists and rescuing abducted civilians.
Key outcomes include:

Several terrorists neutralized
2 suspects arrested
13 kidnapped victims rescued
Weapons, vehicles, livestock and other items recovered
Operations were conducted in hotspots such as Sabon Birni, Goronyo, Isa, Maradun, Tsafe, Talata Mafara, Anka, Kontagora, Magama, and Bakori LGAs.

NORTH CENTRAL: OPERATION ENDURING PEACE (OPEP)

Troops responded swiftly to distress calls in Plateau and Kaduna States, engaging violent extremists in multiple firefights.
Results recorded include:
Extremists neutralized
16 suspects arrested
5 kidnapped victims rescued
Arms, ammunition, vehicles and motorcycles recovered
A key breakthrough was the arrest of Ibrahim Wakili, a notorious suspect long on the military’s watchlist. He was apprehended with weapons on 9 November in Sanga LGA of Kaduna State.

NORTH CENTRAL: OPERATION WHIRL STROKE (OPWS)

Troops achieved major successes across Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba States, where they conducted multiple offensive operations.
Highlights include:
Criminals neutralized
10 suspects arrested
48 kidnapped victims rescued
Arms, ammunition, vehicles and livestock recovered
Additionally, troops apprehended two gunrunners and two extremist collaborators in Nasarawa State between 4 and 5 November.

SOUTH-SOUTH: OPERATION DELTA SAFE (OPDS)

Troops disrupted massive oil theft operations valued at ₦15.89 million. Items destroyed or recovered include:
12,600 litres of stolen crude oil
3,287 litres of AGO
23 illegal crude oil ovens
14 dugout pits
16 boats
12 storage tanks
6 illegal refining sites
5 oil thieves arrested
Assorted weapons seized

Further operations in Bayelsa and Delta States led to the arrest of four additional suspects.

SOUTH EAST: OPERATION UDO KA (OPUK)

Offensive operations across Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States resulted in:
1 terrorist neutralized
7 criminal suspects arrested
Operations were conducted in Njaba, Ezeagu, Obolo and Akpabuyo LGAs.

Major General Bello noted that the Armed Forces’ will continued commitment to restoring peace and security nationwide.
