AFN RECORD MAJOR OPERATIONAL SUCCESSES NATIONWIDE

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens as well as defending the nation’s territorial
. In response to the evolving security threats across the country, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes, the military says it has intensified joint operations with other security agencies to restore peace and stability.

In a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, the AFN noted that ongoing operations are driven by professionalism and strict adherence to human rights, with a renewed focus on dismantling criminal networks nationwide.

According to the Defence Headquarters, troops across all theatres recorded significant operational gains during the week under review, including the recovery of large quantities of arms, ammunition, improvised explosive device (IED) materials and other equipment.

NORTH EAST: OPERATION HADIN KAI

maintained pressure on Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS terrorists through coordinated ground and air operations in Borno, Adamawa and surrounding areas. Between 17 and 26 November, several terrorists were killed in Damboa, Bama, Monguno, Magumeri, Chibok, Ngala, Gwoza, Askira Uba and Abadam LGAs, while others were captured.

Eleven collaborators, informants and logistics suppliers were arrested, and eight kidnapped commuters rescued on the Gwoza–Limankara road. Weapons, vehicles and other equipment were also recovered.

On 19 November, the Air Component carried out successful air interdiction strikes in the Sambisa general area, destroying terrorists’ storage facilities and neutralising several fighters.

NORTH WEST: OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA

Operations across Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna, Sokoto, Katsina and Niger States led to the killing of multiple terrorists, the arrest of 15 suspects, and the rescue of 13 kidnapped victims. Troops also recovered weapons, vehicles, livestock, and other items.

On 19 November, a major breakthrough occurred when troops arrested a suspected arms dealer in Zamfara who was negotiating a ₦4 million weapons procurement deal. Investigations revealed he was in possession of weapons and uniforms belonging to a terrorist group.

Air interdiction missions between 17 and 26 November also targeted terrorists’ hideouts, including an airstrike on Pauwa Hill in Katsina State that destroyed camps and equipment.

NORTH CENTRAL: OPERATION ENDURING PEACE

Troops responded to distress calls in Plateau and Kaduna States, engaging extremists in multiple encounters. Several terrorists were neutralised, while the notorious extremist Umar Idi (aka Lere) and nine others were arrested. Ten kidnapped victims were also rescued.
Operations further led to the recovery of cax,,xsh and receipts totalling over ₦7.9 million linked to railway track vandals who attempted to bribe troops.

NORTH CENTRAL: OPERATION WHIRL STROKE

Troops conducted successful operations across Kogi, Nasarawa, Taraba and Benue States, neutralising criminals and arresting 11 suspects. Nine kidnapped victims were rescued, while arms, ammunition,X, vehicles and livestock were seized.

SOUTH-SOUTH: OPERATION DELTA SAFE

Troops foiled oil theft activities estimated at over ₦173.7 million, recovering more than 105,650 litres of stolen crude oil and 63,820 litres of illegally refined diesel (AGO). Eleven illegal refining sites were destroyed and 13 suspects arrested.
Additional operations in Rivers and Ondo States led to the arrest of a notorious cultist, Dan Okposuogu (aka World Wide), and six others. Three kidnapped victims were also rescued.

SOUTH EAST: OPERATION UDO KA

Troops sustained aggressive operations across Imo, Abia, Ebonyi and Anambra States, arresting seven criminals and rescuing five kidnapped victims.
On 18 November, air interdiction strikes in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State destroyed terrorists’ camps and logistics stores.
DHQ Commends Troops, Urges Public Support

The Defence Headquarters commended troops for their bravery and urged them to sustain the momentum. It also called on citizens to continue sharing credible information to aid ongoing operations.

Major General Michael Onoja assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces remain dedicated to restoring peace across all troubled regions and will continue to operate strictly within the law
