Seventy-seven Colonels were promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, including officers serving in strategic units such as the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Army Headquarters, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Operation Whirl Stroke, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, and various reference hospitals.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, urged them to demonstrate renewed commitment, discipline and strategic leadership in their new roles. He tasked them to embrace innovation and deliver decisive responses to the country’s evolving security threats.

The COAS also reminded the officers of their constitutional duty to defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity, stressing that their loyalty must remain absolute and uncompromised.

The promotions take immediate effect.
