Omisore Criticises Adeleke’s “Dancing Governance” as He Intensifies 2026 Osun Governorship Bid

Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has renewed his criticism of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, describing the state as being subjected to what he termed “dancing governance.”

Omisore made the remarks during an interactive session with journalists, insisting that Osun deserves leadership defined by seriousness, depth and competence.

“Governance is a serious business. Any governor who turns governance into entertainment is not appreciating the weight of leadership,” he said. “The projection of a dancing governor shows the emptiness of ideas. Osun deserves better.”

Omisore alleged that Osun’s education system, road infrastructure and administrative structures have deteriorated in recent years. He argued that the state requires a leader capable of restoring its reputation as a centre of learning and culture.

He dismissed speculations about a consensus arrangement within the APC, noting that with nine aspirants in the race, such an option is not feasible under the Electoral Act.

“As of today, we have nine aspirants. Consensus is not on the table. Whoever emerges through the set process becomes the party’s candidate,” he said.

Responding to questions about his repeated attempts at the governorship, Omisore said his age, experience and growth through public service uniquely position him for the job.

“The older the wine, the richer the taste. Experience cannot be bought. Every attempt came with a new vision. This time, Osun is lucky to have someone with depth ready to rewrite its history,” he stated.

He also dismissed zoning arguments as “lazy political narratives,” insisting that every zone in Osun has produced a governor.

“Osun has never been governed on the basis of zoning. Every zone has had its turn. These speculations are social media stunts,” he said.
