
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has commended troops of the 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna, for their steadfastness, professionalism and diligence in managing the security situation within the brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
Lt. Gen. Shaibu gave the commendation on Thursday while addressing frontline troops during an operational visit to the 31 Artillery Brigade Area of Responsibility.
The Army Chief assured the troops of improved welfare, noting that he had been adequately briefed on their challenges, particularly in the areas of accommodation and other critical facilities needed to enhance the wellbeing of soldiers and their families.
He urged the personnel to remain professional in the discharge of their duties and to continue to uphold fundamental human rights in line with the provisions of the United Nations Charter.
Lt. Gen. Shaibu further charged the troops to remain firm, vigilant and decisive in confronting terrorists operating in Shiroro, Rijau and other locations within the brigade’s Area of Responsibility.
To further boost morale and operational effectiveness, the COAS directed the construction and renovation of accommodation and other essential facilities for the troops and their families.
The visit, according to the Army leadership, underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting frontline troops and strengthening ongoing operations across the country.
