Troops of the Joint Task Force under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled coordinated terrorist attacks on military positions at Azir Bridge and Banki in Nigeria’s North-East.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the attacks occurred in the early hours of March 13, 2026.
The terrorists reportedly advanced in large numbers in an attempt to overrun troops’ positions at Azir Bridge in Sector 2 and Banki in Sector 1. However, the troops responded swiftly, launching coordinated defensive and spoiling operations that disrupted the attackers’ formations.
The military said the troops demonstrated strong tactical awareness and combat readiness, forcing the terrorists into disarray and preventing them from breaching the positions.
The engagements were further supported by close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, which played a significant role in repelling the attacks.
Military authorities said the failed assaults contradict what they described as misleading propaganda and false reports circulating on some online media platforms regarding the security situation in the area.
The statement emphasized that troops remain firmly in control of both locations and continue to dominate the operational environment with sustained offensive actions against terrorist elements.
Operation HADIN KAI also reassured the public of the Joint Task Force’s commitment to defeating terrorist threats and restoring lasting peace across the North-East region.
