The All Progressives Congress has announced that over 8,453 delegates will participate in its 8th National Convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026, in Abuja.
This was disclosed on Thursday during a media briefing held at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja by the party’s Media and Publicity Committee for the convention.
Co-chair of the committee and Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the convention would focus on electing party leaders, deepening policy engagement, and strengthening the APC’s internal democratic processes.
He noted that the gathering is expected to demonstrate the party’s unity, democratic maturity, and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also called on party members and stakeholders to maintain discipline, make necessary sacrifices, and ensure effective communication throughout the convention process to guarantee its success.
The APC described the 2026 convention as a critical milestone for the party, noting that it follows a series of congresses conducted at the ward, local government, state, and zonal levels ahead of the main event.
