APC best platform for stability, progress – Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, on Tuesday said the party remains the most credible platform to deliver stability, progress and national development in Nigeria.
Yilwatda, who spoke in Abuja, said the APC has the structure, experience and national spread required to manage the country’s complex challenges, warning against what he described as unstable opposition platforms.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said Nigeria “cannot afford to gamble its future on confusion and politically disoriented alternatives.”
He said, “The APC is not an ad hoc coalition. It is a tested political machine with the institutional strength and national reach to meet the expectations of Nigerians.”
The APC chairman added that the ruling party was not only preparing for future elections but also working to strengthen governance, deepen democratic culture and rebuild public trust.
Yilwatda criticised opposition parties over internal crises, describing them as evidence of weak leadership and lack of preparedness for governance.
“A party that cannot govern itself cannot govern Nigeria,” he said, citing factional disputes, legal battles and internal divisions within opposition ranks.
He maintained that the APC believes in winning elections through popular support rather than legal technicalities.
“Victory is sweeter when it is earned and freely given by the people,” he said
On security, Yilwatda commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the ongoing trial of more than 500 terrorism suspects.
He described the development as a sign of the government’s commitment to the rule of law and institutional accountability.
Speaking on Osun politics, the APC chairman called for discipline, unity and a data-driven campaign structure ahead of future elections.
He said the state represents a strategic test for the party’s strength and a key build-up to the 2027 general elections.
Yilwatda urged party members to put aside personal interests and work towards collective victory.
“Nigeria needs steadiness, structure, courage and capacity. The APC represents that responsibility,” he added.
