Troops  Neutralise Terrorists, Disrupt Logistics in North-East

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, the Joint Task Force (North East), have recorded major operational successes against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, neutralising insurgents, arresting suspects, and dismantling logistics networks across the region.

According to a statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the troops carried out sustained offensives between March 31 and April 4, 2026, targeting terrorist strongholds and supply routes.

In a key operation in Geidam, Yobe State, troops under Sector 2, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged suspected terrorist logistics suppliers based on credible intelligence. Three insurgents were killed during the encounter, while a vehicle loaded with supplies was disabled. Items recovered included foodstuffs, mobile phones, and other materials intended for terrorist camps.

In a separate operation, troops ambushed terrorists attempting to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the Konduga–Kawuri axis in Borno State. The engagement led to the death of two insurgents after an explosion was triggered during the firefight. Weapons and ammunition were recovered at the scene.

Troops also prevented a potential attack by detecting and safely detonating an IED planted along the Ngoshe–Pulka road, ensuring the safety of commuters.

In Adamawa State, troops under Sector 4, in collaboration with local hunters, conducted operations in Mubi North Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of three suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP members. One of the suspects reportedly confessed to gathering intelligence on troop movements and participating in previous attacks.

Similarly, troops operating in Mainok market arrested three suspected logistics suppliers and recovered livestock, mobile phones, and cash, further disrupting the terrorists’ supply chain.

In another development, security operatives intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorist elements in Yobe State. Two of the occupants were found with gunshot wounds believed to have been sustained during earlier clashes with troops. They are currently in custody along with recovered communication devices.

Additional operations across the theatre also led to the arrest of several informants and collaborators, as well as a foreign national apprehended under suspicious circumstances at a checkpoint.

The military high command commended the troops for their professionalism, resilience, and vigilance, urging them to sustain the momentum in ongoing operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in the North-East region.
