Police Arrest Suspected Kidnap Gang Members Linked to Abuja

ABUJA — Security operatives have arrested suspected members of an interstate kidnapping network allegedly operating across Abuja and several other Nigerian states.

According to a report published on August 14, 2026, police investigations identified the suspects as members of organised criminal networks operating across the Federal Capital Territory, Enugu, Kogi, Nasarawa, Rivers, Kwara and Taraba states.

The arrests reportedly followed months of intelligence-led operations involving the police and other security agencies.

Authorities said the operation was aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in kidnapping and ransom activities and preventing them from expanding their operations across state boundaries.

The development highlights continuing security efforts around Abuja and neighbouring states as law-enforcement agencies intensify operations against organised crime.
