Adamawa Youth Aspirant Haske Applauds Tinubu, Cites Nomination Fee Cut as Boost for Young Candidates

A governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, Abdulrahaman Haske, has commended President Bola Tinubu for fostering inclusivity within Nigeria’s political process, pointing to a significant reduction in nomination fees as a major step forward for youth participation.
Haske revealed that he received a ₦20 million discount on his expression of interest and nomination forms, describing the development as a clear outcome of the “Not Too Young To Run” Act and the sustained advocacy that led to its passage.
According to him, the reduction demonstrates a growing commitment by political stakeholders to empower young Nigerians and create a more accessible democratic space.
He also dismissed recent speculation suggesting that his party might adopt a consensus candidate, noting instead that the process has been open and competitive.
“President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated true democratic leadership by allowing all aspirants to participate and test their popularity,” Haske said.
The aspirant further praised the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and administrative structures for ensuring a smooth and transparent nomination process.
Beyond his ambition in Adamawa, Haske used the opportunity to encourage young Nigerians across the country to take a more active role in politics. He stressed that while participation is important, it is equally critical for youths to step forward as contestants.
“Young people must move beyond being spectators. We have the capacity to lead, and this is the time to show it,” he added.
He concluded by expressing optimism about the upcoming primaries, stating that the younger generation is prepared to demonstrate its leadership potential on a broader national stage.
