CDSA Conducts Operational Assessment Visit to Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri

The Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Major General Philip Ilodibia, on Tuesday visited the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in Maiduguri, Borno State, as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s ongoing counter-insurgency operations.
During the visit, Major General Ilodibia received detailed briefings on the activities and operational progress of the theatre command. He explained that the assessment was aimed at gaining first-hand insight into the technical operations of the recently deployed Modular Earth Observation Outpost (MEOO) Team, as well as enhancing collaboration between the Defence Space Administration (DSA) and Operation Hadin Kai.
The CDSA noted that the visit provided an opportunity to evaluate current capabilities and identify areas where the DSA can improve intelligence support, streamline information flow, and boost the efficiency of the Military Command and Control Centre in the theatre. He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to providing additional technical support, addressing operational gaps, and escalating challenges to the military high command for timely intervention.
He also commended troops for their achievements in sustaining stabilization efforts, particularly in supporting the resettlement of internally displaced persons across the North East. Major General Ilodibia extended condolences to families of fallen personnel, honoring their sacrifices in the line of duty.
In his remarks, the Theatre Commander appreciated the CDSA’s visit, stating that it would enhance operational effectiveness and lead to actionable recommendations to strengthen ongoing efforts. He highlighted the impact of DSA’s technical contributions, noting that the integration of the MEOO system has supported recent operational successes.
The commander reiterated the commitment of Operation Hadin Kai to maintaining operational momentum in pursuit of lasting peace and stability in the region, while emphasizing the importance of target accuracy to minimize civilian casualties and optimize resource use.
The visit featured inspection of the Quarter Guard, a tour of the Military Command and Control Centre, operational briefings, an interactive session with personnel, and the signing of the visitors’ register, among other activities. Senior military officers were also in attendance.
